Can I use any headset with the Cobalt PLUS system?

Only Cobalt compatible "electret" headsets will work properly with the Cobalt PLUS system.

Can I add a coach to my Cobalt PLUS system?

Yes! Simply give us a call and we'll help you get another coach added for a minimal cost.

I have a question or an issue with my system.  How do I get help?

CoachComm is happy to help!

How many coaches can Cobalt PLUS support?

The Cobalt PLUS system can accommodate an unlimited number of users (i.e. as many as 19 coaches in full duplex or 18 coaches plus an unlimited number of coaches communicating in a shared or listen-only mode if necessary).

What does it mean to have a coach's beltpack in shared mode?

Coaches operating in this mode are sharing a talk path and can talk one at a time. Given the high number of coaches the Cobalt PLUS system can support, this mode is typically only necessary for extremely large coaching staffs that are looking to have additional support staff on headsets.

How many separate channels (conversations) can coexist on Cobalt PLUS?

Up to six total conversations can coexist on a system (three offense and/or three defense). Access to these conversations can be customized on a coach-by-coach basis.

Can the talk button be set to momentary on the beltpack?

The talk button can be used in a momentary method by pressing and holding the talk button while speaking. Upon release, the talk button will not latch or stay active.

Will the system continue to work as expected if the master beltpack goes offline?

No, the system requires the master beltpack to be on for the rest of the system to operate.

If the primary master goes down or the battery is being replaced, can another unit take over as the master?

Yes, but not automatically. Any beltpack can be designated as the master within the menu if the original master has been lost or turned off.

Does it require a base station in the press box?

No. Cobalt PLUS does not require a base station and uses pack-to-pack communication.

How long is the battery life?

10 hours.

Is the battery removable and rechargeable in the charger without the beltpack?

Yes.

Will Cobalt PLUS coexist with Wi-Fi?

Yes. The Cobalt PLUS system operates in 900 MHz which is not affected by Wi-Fi.

Will Cobalt PLUS work in a large stadium?

Yes. Cobalt PLUS operates to the maximum allowed transmit power which provides more than enough operating range in the largest college and NFL stadiums in the country.

Does Cobalt PLUS work well in the rain?

Yes. It is certified as IP-67 for protection from water and dust and has been proven to work in harsh environments all over the country.

Is Cobalt PLUS compatible with player communications?

Yes. With Cobalt PLUS, you can add an unlimited number of Cobalt PLUS Player Receiver packs and communicate with up to eight different player position groups.

Is the Cobalt PLUS system compatible with the Cobalt system?

No. These are different products; however, if you do have the Cobalt system, you can contact us and take advantage of any trade-in or upgrade offers available to upgrade to the Cobalt PLUS system!
